Here is this article in German.
The second HR blogger convention took place after the first day of the “Zukunft Personal” HR trade show.
Having had one (or two?) glass(es) of champagne, we left the show – feeling a bit tipsy – to go on board the MS RheinEnergie, where a meeting of the regional Cologne-XING group (one of the biggest and most active groups in the social network) was held. There, we indulged in “Kölsch“, the local Cologne beer, and in a very good buffet. The essence of this time’s get-together consisted in networking, the reunion of us job bloggers and, mostly, in having a good time. Topics such as job sites, career and HR in general were treated marginally. Nevertheless we managed to discuss some future blog project co-operations (watch out!).
By 9 o’clock pm, the boat left the harbour for a one-hour tour on the Rhine. The weather was rather warm with a cool evening breeze and we were amazed by the great architecture of the houses and buildings close to the river.
This time, there was no surprise guest like we had during our first convention back in June. We also waited in vain for a greenish-violet monster to appear out of the depths of the Rhine. Apparently, the job boards’ marketing departments were all too busy to relax from a hard day’s work or they were partying on the exhibitor’s dance night. Anyway, what a pity for them, since bloggers are known to spread good (and bad) PR in no time, and we love great surprises.
The next blogger meeting will probably take place in Jena, Germany. The exact date and time remains to be scheduled. And after that, we are planning to have one in Lyon, which, of course, will make me very happy.
