“Silicon Valley’s “severance package” for startups fell out of favor in 2015 as Yahoo, Google, Facebook, Dropbox eased up on acquihires”,

It’s true, that we heard much less about “acqui-hiring” last year. The days of wildly buying other, mostly about-to-fail, companies seem to be over.
Maybe it’s just better to get in touch with the people and to really attract them to your business and teams than forcing them to work for you after an acquihiring process (where the good ones might leave sooner or earlier anyway if they are not happy).
So what does that tell us?
Build relationships, “sell” your jobs and projects and be great at it.
