That sounds like a really cool tool for candidates, as stated on Onrec:

“The technology helps users manage their job search by allowing them to see when recruiters have viewed their profile and alerting them to upcoming job application deadlines – in turn encouraging candidates to actively engage with these recruiters and vacancies.”

Since Jobsite is part of Axel Springer’s StepStone Group – at least of the Digital Classifieds division – it would be great to have such a technology on the German StepStone (and in other countries as well).

However, since job seekers in Germany usually do not want to log in in order to send an application, that’s a difficult task to fulfill in Germany.

On the other hand, StepStone are pushing the mobile apply process by letting candidates use their online CV when they have created it in StepStone’s backend. Job seekers can then apply in just one click or use one of the cloud storage systems like Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or Box.

So who knows – this kind of technology might as well cross the Channel and land on our shores.

It would be interesting to see how candidates (and employers!) would react.
